Not a good day to drive down Chuckanut. the road that should have never been built. Friends live along that treacherous drive in between Fairhaven and Bow...The hillside has never been stable, nor the shore line below it. Amtrak rail goes along the shore, it is beautiful but untrustworthy.
Another weirdo thing is this Rowan shrub growing in the crotch of Mrs. Plum. It is her baby...If the yard was in some semblance of order it could be put into the soil. Since that will not happen any time soon, if ever, I will just leave the baby there with Mrs. Plum.

Rowan, mountain ash, is abundant here, especially in this neighborhood.
Sometimes the berries are orange and mostly they are bright red.
Rowan is the coat of arms for munincipality of Finland called Pihlajavesi. just in case you needed to know for the next trivia game. It is a pretty great graphic- straight forward - simple, no complicated dragons or lions or curly ques. I love Finish design- bold and bright- like Marimmeko . Strong, joyful and beautiful- like our favorite Finn...Stella.
She came by yesterday with an Easter basket-
Stella works hard on her garden -now can not go out in the sunshine with fragrance flowers surrounding her to do her magic cultivation of loveliness without getting yelled at, poo odor filling her space.
Our rhodies are blooming- the lavender ones are still tucked in.
Singapore's PM, Lawrence Wong, gave a brilliant speech addressing trade. Singapore has cut ties with USA trade. Concentrating on EU, Asia and Australia. The USA has no hold on Singapore. A few nations are stepping up - penguin rebellion! The UK however, was the first to give the enormous orange ass a big smooch so far up the chocolate highway that it got lost. Disappointing. PM even offered up their King.
I finally returned our little milk bottles and got a handful of cash.
Local dairy recycles. A great return $$$- Now I can buy more chocolate milk- the best on the market in chubby glass bottles with a darling cow on the front.
Not everything has turned to sh*t.
PS- Stella just emailed news THE ROOSTER IS DEAD!! neighbor killed him.
Would the Humane Society be of any assistance in knowing who to call about dog hoarding? Dog poop running into a salmon stream is also bad. This is bad. Cops maybe? A welfare check? Are your cops murderers or are they on an even keel? I feel so bad for Stella. That was quite the rockfall.
ReplyDeleteStella checked with the humane society as well as the law- no one seems to be able or willing to do anything about the conditions of the yard and house. At least the rooster is gone.
DeleteRemarkably, the mountain ash found a crevice in the plum tree and decided to make it home. It seems a bit like grafting one tree to another. Not that I've ever tried to graft anything. It is fascinating and will be fun to watch the tree develop.

Poor Stella seems to have the neighbor from Hell. It would seem the local Board of Health, Social Services and/or the Dept. of Environmental Quality Engineering (DEQE) would take on the issues. They would investigate and require the neighbor to comply with health, safety and environmental regulations.
Yes, one would think so- Stella has reached out to all of those who may be able to make sense to the neighbor but no luck ...yet. Mentally unwell folks are so difficult.
DeleteCan't say as I blame the neighbor for killing that rooster, no one should have to put up with that shite. Seems to me that the local health department would have something to say about the dog poo running into streams or lakes. That's just nasty, YACK!!

They are very serious folks and have done so much to improve the salmon streams and runs over the years. Pollution into salmon waterways is a big no no!
Some of those coins look like Australian money that we no longer have. One cent coins and two cent coins and gone now, our lowest denomination is the five cent piece, your nickel.

DeleteThe neighbors yard is small, her house is small- , one big dog could fill the yard in a day but many animals is just too much! I hope that that changes before the heat of summer! The lake suffers as well as Stella.
Mean roosters generally get dead in the end. This is why they invented chicken stew.

Unless some one is murdered the law will not concern themselves- Trying other options- the lake and stream's health are the main concern.- mau need to go to wild game and fish dept. That is if the orange bag has not fired them all...

Reality of Orange firings hits hard so we become vigilantes is that the plan? The person who owned the rooster- the one who is so irresponsible killed her own rooster because it scratched her.. that is how mental illness works I guess, good decision making skills are challenged. She went out and got two roosters to replace the one killed ...

ReplyDeleteI really wish our PM had not handed the invitation to the orange one - far too quick to kowtow, or whatever he was doing. He has been much criticised. The King is the King of Canada, too, so won't be too happy about #47Orange's plans to take it over. #47 will not receive a warm welcome in UK, though he's bound to claim otherwise.
insane to let him in through the front door- King Charles has enough to deal with...PM made such a mistake . Remember the last time the orange blob was in the UK and walked in front of the Queen. She was so gracious and lovely. Perhaps if he visits again Charles can take him for a long walk- bone spurs might do him in...fingers crossed.
